Letting Go

For the past few months, my daughter has been begging me to let her cut her long hair. We’re talking 10 inches or so. I love her long hair, so I had a hard time agreeing to this. Finally, I told her that after dance was over for the year, she could. As long as she was a willing model for a photo shoot so that I could document her long hair (imagine me evilly rubbing my hands together, because that’s what I was doing in my head). So this past weekend, we had a mini session then headed to the salon to cut off her hair. Here are some of my favorites from our session.

Here’s a quick snapshot of her short hair since I know you are just dying to see how it looks:

It was really hard for me to let her do this, but she is a very strong minded individual. I know she is sliding into those important tween years where you start searching for your identity.  I love that she knows what she wants and follows through with her decisions!

Photo shoot with a fun family

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure to shoot the family of one of my favorite dance moms. It was a little bittersweet, because they are moving out of state, but I am glad I did it! I had a lot of fun with this family! It was easy to see how much they love and genuinely enjoyed each other. She asked if she could include their family dog, which I was nervous to do, but agreed to. It turned out great, and I hope I provided this family with pictures with their sweet Emma that they will always have to look at! Here are a few of my favorites for your viewing pleasure!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog! I look forward to sharing my next session (two beautiful sisters) soon!
